01/10/2020 3 a.m.
So if you you have ever published a book you know what a massive undertaking it is. You will also understand why at 3 a.m. I’m tossing and turning in bed, with thoughts of, “Now what?” running through my mind.
The thing is, that a couple of days ago, I read a quote by another author that has stuck with me. It said something like, “If you don’t put as much time and effort into marketing your book as you did creating it, then what’s the point. No one will ever read it.”
He’s exactly right! I’ve put hundreds and hundreds of hours into writing and illustrating a children’s book and if it falls in the forest and there’s no one there to hear it, then it may as well not even exist. What’s the point? That leads me to now. Three in the morning, typing a blog.
There are thousands of YouTube videos, blogs, classes, and a myriad of other resources out there that tell you how to market your book, but it is all quite overwhelming and my middle of the night mind is racing. We’ll see if I actually post this tomorrow morning, but for now, I guess this is just a shout out to anyone that understands or has any suggestions of where to go from here?
